BMW Keys, Locks and Immobiliser parts replacement

At 1 Key Locksmiths we offer key and immobiliser services for a wide range of BMW vehicles. We can do replacement keys, remotes, proximity fobs, EWS modules, CAS modules, ECUs and coding functions on a variety of other modules. We support all E series chassis with the exception of E36 and E39, and most F series chassis up to 2018. Unfortunately we cannot currently support any G chassis BMW for key learning or immobiliser replacement functions., and F series after 2018 can be unsupported depending on BDC revision.

Our BMW group services include:

Key replacement, lost or had your BMW key stolen? Has your BMW key broken after a drop or a swim? We can replace them! Faster and usually cheaper than a dealer alternative we can usually replace your BMW key on the spot with a quality aftermarket key. Replacement keys retain the same look as the original and retain all original functions, and depending on stock may even come with a BMW logo. Was it your only key you’ve lost? We can still help! 1 Key Locksmiths carries the specialist diagnostic equipment and the knowledge required to work with BMW keys and remotes even when all keys are lost.

Worried about lost or missing keys for your BMW? We can disable or even delete entirely any keys which are currently missing for your vehicle by interrogating the modules in the vehicle so you have the peace of mind that only the keys you hold are the ones that drive your vehicle. Ask while we’re on site about how many keys are registered to your vehicle and which ones you actually have!

BMW vehicle not starting? BMW immobiliser electronics are remarkably complex things, immobiliser functions are controlled in the EWS(Bladed models) CAS(Slot and proximity up to approximately 2016) or FEM/BDC(2012+ vehicles) modules. All of these modules have different, varied failure modes ranging from bad relays in EWS/early CAS modules up to and including corrupt memory from incorrect attempts to program keys or even improper jump starting procedures. If you’ve got a BMW that you have the key for and it’s not starting we might be able to assist you, with most vehicles we can replace the failed module with a second-hand donor unit, and match it to your current keys and ECU.

Got the dreaded steering wheel symbol on your E9x dashboard? This means the Electronic Steering Lock is failing. The ESL is an electromechanical part that locks and unlocks the steering column when a valid key is recognised by the vehicle. We carry replacement, rebuilt steering locks to solve the problem, or can supply and fit emulator units which replace the electronic function of the ESL without the fragile mechanical part.

Not sure which chassis code you have? Call us with your vehicle’s Victorian registration plate number or the VIN and we can identify your vehicle and give you a quote on what you need.
